A new resource for those involved in clinical research has been developed by the UK Diabetes Research Network. It’s a website and DVD designed to introduce the world of diabetes clinical research trials and contains footage from both experts in the field as well as patients.

• Life for a Child Program film debut

In a bid to highlight the difficulties of children in developing countries living with type 1 diabetes, the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) have produced a film in support of its Life for a Child Program, with support from Eli Lilly and Company. The film was directed by Academy Award nominee Edward Lachman and was put forward for Best Short Documentary at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival. Invitation to diabetes researchers and funding agencies to participate in an innovative European project An innovative new project to guide a Road Map for Diabetes Research in Europe (DIAMAP) commenced on 1 April 2008. The project is being undertaken by the Alliance for European Diabetes Research (EURADIA) and is funded by a grant from the European Commission (FP7 200701).
